Private

*Must be 16 years of age minimum*

FAR 61.107 (b)(6): Private Pilot

Flight proficiency- A person must receive and log ground and flight training on the following areas of operations:

1)-Preflight preparation

2)-Preflight procedures

3)-Airport and gliderport operations

4)-Launches and Landings

5)-Performance speeds

6)-Soaring techniques

7)-Performance maneuvers

8)-Navigation

9)-Slow flight and stalls

10)-Emmergency operations

11)-Postflight procedures

FAR 61.109 (f): Private Pilot Aeronautical Experience

The private pilot applicant with less than 40 hours in heavier-than-air aircraft needs at least:

1)-10 hours flight time and 20 flights in a glider

2)-2 hours solo with no less than 10 launches

3)-3 training flights in preparation for the practical test within a 60 day period preceding the date of the test, with all the logbook endorsements signed by instructor (CFI-G).

*The private applicant with at least 40 hours in heavier than air aircraft needs at least 3 hours of glider flight time that includes 10 solo flights and 3 training flights in preparation for the practical test within a 60 day period preceding the date of the test.

Commercial

*Must be 18 years of age minimum*

Flight proficiency- A person must receive and log ground and flight training on the following areas of operations:

FAR 61.129 (f):Commercial Pilot Aeronautical Experience

The commercial pilot applicant with less than 40 hours in heavier-than-air aircraft needs at least:

1)-25 hours flight time and 100 flights in a glider

2)-2 hours solo with no less than 10 launches

3)-3 training flights in preparation for the practical test within a 60 day period preceding the date of the test, with all the logbook endorsements signed by instructor (CFI-G).

*The commercial applicant with at least 40 hours in heavier than air aircraft needs at least 3 hours of glider flight time that includes 10 solo flights and 3 training flights in preparation for the practical test within a 60 day period preceding the date of the test.
